15-Piece Hard-Anodized Aluminum ~ Cookware Set Review

I've been buying a new better quality non-stick pan every 2 years. The cheap one's last about a year the better ones about 2 years or so depending on how much you use them and how you treat them (high heat/low heat, oven use etc.). Wishing I could find a better pan for under $50 I ran across this set at Costco. At $150 for the 15 part set I decided that this might be a better way to go. Even if these are in between the range of quality I've grown to expect they were a bargain. Not likely I'll be using these all as much as the one or two pans I used before so they should last at least a couple of years and still leave me with a bunch of lesser used pans still good for many years.

Now I see these are around $200 on Amazon (plus shipping) but do note that this set is no longer available at Costco. I am writing this review because I still think they are an excellent value. Having used them now for about 6 weeks I can say it's great to have the right pan for every job. They work as well as the better pans I've bought before (Rachel Ray, Analon, Circulon). The handles stay cool on the cooktop due to the handle design (split like All Clad) and they are fine with the oven so long as you don't test their limits (375 worked fine - not too close to the heating element).

The only problem is storage. However these do stack up surprising well and can be stored in a fairly tight space. I put tea cloths (or dish towels) between each pan so the bottoms wouldn't scratch the inside of the pan it rests in. Today I put up a big ceiling hung pot rack and they look great, even match the rack color. One last bonus is that in hanging the pans the lids can slide over the handles so they stay with the pot/pan while hanging.

Always hand wash (easy and quick) and be careful to use only wood or plastic utensils (like any non-stick). Bottoms, handles and exteriors can handle a little more aggressive cleanup when needed.
