3 of my 4 kids have been sleeping for years on mattresses that we inherited or received from other family members. Being 12, 8, and 7, they deserved mattresses of their own. I went looking on several websites and locally for twin mattresses that weren't bargain basement but also weren't really expensive. I didn't have much luck.

"TO THE AMAZON!" I cried. Sure enough, I found these 8" foam mattresses. I've slept on similar before, and while I don't don't like them that much (but to pain issues that I have) I though that the combination of price, resiliency, 10 year warranty, and ease of shipping would be great for them. Sure enough, for 11.00 total I got three mattresses delivered to my house. (try to get that locally without spending an arm and a leg)

They mattresses came double boxed, and the inner packing box has a handle and wheels- in about 2 days. The mattresses themselves are double bagged and rolled into a box that is about 14x14 all the way around. They were very easy to move and each only weighed 30-40 lbs each. Unpacking them consisted of shucking the outer box, then pulling the mattress out of the interior box, cutting the plastic, and then letting the mattress unwrap and expand. The instructions say that you should let it breath/expand for 24 hours, but after about 3-4 they had set up pretty close to 8", and there was hardly any of that 'foam smell'. Each mattress has its own zipped cover, but it is recommended that you don't remove that. I went to WalMart and got three 'allergen/waterproof' zip in covers for about 20.00 each. Cleaining/maintenance problem solved.

I laid on on today for about 10 minutes and I was asleep. The mattresses are firm, not 'squishy', and they gradually give the longer you lay on them. Thus far I have had no complaints from the kids, though they are still in 'new mattress land' so they may not have any real constructive criticism to bring. Overall, though, for the kids, with a 10 year warranty, and unbelievably cheap shipping (Prime) this could not be beat.
