I have ordered 2 bedding sets by couture: the Corlu and the Surie. I have opened both sets and compared them. The corlu set seems made better material wise. The materials are softer and the embroidery much more elaborate. The comforter also has a cocalo couture tag sewn to the corner of it, and I liked that. The sheet is softer material and it came with a bumper for the sale/clearance price of $150, and I like a deal. Thyme point of this story is, I don't think cocalo is using the same standards in their couture lines anymore, and I wanted to point that out. I know bumpers are taboo now bc of SIDS, but the quality is just evident when an older cocalo couture set is placed by a new one. I was wondering about this, and so now, I've tested it.

On the other hand, I looove this surie set. Bright colors, pretty design. Love the elephant mobile and the patterns used throughout. Its very vintage/artsy looking. The sheet fabric isn't rough per se, but not as soft as the previous cocalo couture set, Corlu, that I mentioned. This set comes with two sheets (instead of a bumper). They are both blue, but different patterns. I like that bc you have some variance there, and can mix it up. The dust ruffle... wowww! I love the dust ruffle that goes to this set. The bottom is trimmed in a velvet-like blue material and the design mimicks some of that on the comforter. Beautiful. Its my favorite piece to this set. The comforter has some embroidery on the paisley design. I love the back of it, its an orange design and it was so much nicer in person. The comforter is soft, it has some padding inside it, if you plan to use it for baby.

There are little details here and there that make this set stand out from so many others. The design is gorgeous, there's some velvet trim here and there and embroidery in places. However, its lacking the ornate detailing of previous couture collections from cocalo, and that's evident. When it comes to baby, the softer the better, and for the.price of this bedding and its matching accessories, I want better quality! But overall, when not being nit-picky, it is actually well made enough for your little one, and who can resist the colours and the patterns? If your heart is set on this set, as mine is, then get it quick! You wont be dissatisfied. But if you're looking for that luxe fabric that was used on other cocalo sets previous, skip this set and go with a different one. That's really my only complaint... it just needed better fabrics!

*BTW, Iwanted to point out, im having a boy. The color in this set, in person, is perfect for a girl or a boy. They are all actually quite muted colours
