BUSH BUSINESS FURNITURE SERIES A:48-inch DESK Review

As our home office has grown, the best decision we ever made was to start using the Bush Furniture Series A. We now have 7 desk and cabinet pieces in our collection with accessories. This supports 2 full computer work stations with large dual monitors, printer, holds ours 5 years of household filing and still gives us room to spread out our projects. The series has stayed identical for years and you can't tell the first piece we bought about seven years ago from the piece we bought this year. That is also a testimony to how well these pieces are built and stand up to daily use.

They come packaged in a flat box that should probably be a two person lift, but I've muscled them around just fine. Each piece is protected with just the right amount of foam and covering. All the pieces are clearly marked and the instructions match up perfectly. 30 minutes later you have a solid desk that will last longer than your next 5 computers. They are basic shapes, but in real life I find basic is more functional than fancy.

Pros: Solid, well built, true value for the money, consistent colors/sizes/appearance.

Cons: Solid and Heavy, not practical for college life if you are going to move around a lot. They don't wear out, so if you like to change your furniture every couple of years... try something else

All our friends marvel at our desk setup and the quality of these pieces. I'd give this 10 stars if I could, they are twice as good as any other desk product I have ever owned.

Although these are sturdy awesome glasses, my husband has managed to break two of the stems off, over the last 3 years, while attempting to hand wash.. (Not me..) So these were replacements & even a little cheaper than what we originally paid. FYI: wash the next morning if you've had enough wine to fill this size 4 or more times. Lol

This is a very nice rug; HOWEVER, if you are looking for a poppy red (as I was) it is not what you want. The color is a burgandy red/maroon color. Again, it is a nice rug but is not accurately described. Descriptions are extremely important to me as I count on them greatly to make my decision. I am aware that certain materials do not photograph accurately; therefore, the vendor needs to take special care to accurate and correct description. So, if you are in the market for a burgandy red, this is a beautiful rug. Also, there are slight irregularities in the measurements of the one I got (from another website, not Amazon: one side of the rug was >1" shorter than the other side (one side was 93.2" and the other was 94.5"). If you are putting it in a place in which the rug will be covered by furniture it will not show. But I was placing it in front of my fireplace and the irregularity was very evident...it was not a square! If the color and size don't matter that much, the rug is very nice and thick. I would only purchase from this vendor again if they correct and redefine their descriptions to reflect the exact colors, not what is portrayed in the photo, which are not at all accurate.

Stork Craft Carrara 2 Drawer Change Table, White Review

The Carrara 2 drawer changing table seems to be very sturdy once assembled, and overall I think it will do the job for which it's designed. I was a bit disappointed in some of the materials; specifically the drawers which were made of a very low quality chipboard. It took probably three hours to unpack, gather the few tools needed (a hammer and a couple of sizes of screwdrivers), and assemble the table. The instructions don't have any words to guide you, relying instead on exploded views of all the parts. However, I thought they were clear and accurate. Prior to beginning assembly, I laid out all the parts and separated all the fastener types into piles. That seemed to keep the confusion to a minimum.
One major issue: a standard concave changing pad was too large to fit, and the one with the table is only thin vinyl-covered foam. I don't know if any other sizes of pads are available, but I'm going to have to look around.

Overall, I am fairly pleased with this product, although I had some difficulty initially. When the product first arrived, the main piece which was the top of the dresser, was cracked all the way in half. Four of the drawer fronts were damaged also. I called the company and they shipped out the replacement pieces very quickly. Once I started putting it together, I realized that it was missing one of the drawer slides. I again called the company and received the piece within about a week. I had some difficulty screwing in the drawer slides with getting the screw to screw all the way in and when I went to put the drawers in, they wouldn't go. I ended up removing a few of the screws from the drawer slides so that the drawers would go in. The drawer slides are wedged into the sides pretty well even without the screws so I am hoping that this will not present a problem later on. Now that it is all put together, it is a very pretty dresser and I am enjoying it.

Update - 2/2010 - Dresser is still working beautifully with no problems whatsoever! Absolutely love the dresser, especially for the price. Even bought a second one for child's bedroom! Recommend without any hesitation.
