Hoover started the vacuum revolution many years ago. I remember grandma taking rugs out of the house and hanging them outside to "beat" the dirt out of them. My granddad bought one of the first Hoovers in their area, it truly was a miracle machine at that time. It was primitive compared to what is on the market now. It worked and really was a major convince. I can remember the neighbors coming over for a demo. and left wanting one....and yes, I am that old. How things have changed! from cloth dust bags to paper dust bags and now no dust bags.

To the new Hoover UH70605..This is really a pleasure to use, from carpet to wood floors to the ceiling fan. A few of the features that I like are first and foremost the retractable cord, simply push, with your foot, a pedal that sends the cord back where it belongs. The fold down handle makes storage in a smaller space possible. The hose is very flexible and easy to use the several attachments that come with the vacuum. The filters are accessible and easy to clean. The upper filter is washable while the bottom HEPA simply needs to be tapped over the trash can. Our old vacuum had no headlight, that is a feature on this unit that I find very helpful, especially in closets and under tables. The on off switch is on the handle, easier to use than the ones that are way down on the side. The dust cup is easy to empty, remove from the unit, hold over the trash can and push a button. A display shows red when the filters need to be cleaned, otherwise it is green....it takes a lot of use before you will see red. I find the MAX very easy to use, especially the hose. There is a "lock" that holds it in place, when you need the hose simply push the button, pull out the hose and you are ready to go....it never slips out of place. The upholstery brush works quite well removing pet hair from the chairs and couch, as well as the crevice tool for corners and around molding. A pedal deactivates the brush for using attachments.

We are quite pleased with the new Hoover and would certainly would recommend it. What a difference----grandmas first Hoover to this! How things change. Just an afterthought, emptying the dirt container does cause dust in the air. I take it outside, which works very well. I doubt many find it a pleasure to vacuum, this just makes it much easier, especially if you are replacing a monster such as we have had for years.
