I needed SOMETHING to get my 9 year old's legos and mega bloks creations off the floor and everywhere. We're amassing quite a collection and I have 12 more boxes waiting to get built, including a Halo spaceship that's about 38 inches long. I needed something with at least two layers of shelves, big things on top, smaller ones on the bottom.

There weren't many things for an acceptable price, since I didn't need something hugely expensive for this simple use. But I wanted something that looked decent.

Packaging was impressive - a pain actually, but very protective. I should have taken a picture of the pile of styrofoam and cardboard I had left over after I cut it all up for my recycling bins. But there's an inner box with everything in it, pieces very well protected with a LOT of styrofoam, especially around the edges and corners, so this can take a lot of banging during shipping without getting close to damaging anything. That inner box is then put in an even thicker outer cardboard box.

They state two people for assembly which is ridiculous - I did this by myself. It's very quick to put together, allen wrench included. I spent at least 3x as much time cleaning up the packaging as I did putting it together. Each bottom shelf is held on by four bolts, the upper one has those Sauder like screws that screw into the bottom of the top piece, and insert into the cams on the top of the legs. All told 8 bolts to tighten and four cams to tighten. And the cam screws that go into the bottom of the top surface are screwed into a plastic like insert there, not just into wood, so you wont' split it or anything like you can when screwing them into normal wood. In fact, the entire thing is designed well so that there's really no way you can split any wood by over-tightening something.

It's sturdy, and the color looks very good. I only had one marred spot, a small line across the edge of one of the lower shelves. I just have that edge turned against the wall. Wouldn't have really been noticeable anyway unless you knew it was there.

It does show oil from hands and such easily though, so I can see I'll be spending time on this keeping it clean after my son gets his fingers all over it while getting and returning his toys.

The only thing I didn't like was HOW the bottom shelves attached - screws go into the shelves from outside the legs - which means there's holes on the outer edge of each leg. They give you little black circle stickers to put over the holes so they're not as noticeable, but to me that was a bit of a letdown. Still, for the price, I can't complain. I'd've given 5 stars if not for the design requiring stickers to cover the holes, but I have no qualms giving this inexpensive table 4 stars for really being a great deal for the price.
