I have had this rug for three years. The ribbons do come out regularly, but I can't say that it has affected the look of the rug or my enjoyment of it. It's nice and thick for the price. The colors are rich and bright and don't appear to have faded. I've had it in a high-traffic area and it has worn well.
It sheds wool fibres like crazy though. Expect to vacuum it regularly and have it fill up your vacuum bag. And you'll definitely want a vacuum with rotating brush - the pile attracts lint and won't let it go without a fight.
